We are visual beings. To capture attention through social media it is essential to have good images and video to accompany your posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Everyone has a cell phone today and sees themselves as an amateur photographer. Take the time to look at the image, crop it and adjust it before posting to make it better. The same goes for video, all phones have the capability of editing the clip. Take advantage of it. It adds a little time but with carefully curated images and video, you will get more views and potentially more shares. Whatever you do, do not share images that are out of focus.

I always carry my Canon Canada Powershot SX50HS with me, but I will often capture a similar image or shoot some video with my Samsung Galaxy 7 phone so that I have something that is easier to share within a few minutes.

Photography is a hobby for me and is very therapeutic. I can often be seen taking pictures at client events, capturing the seasons in my garden, getting a close-up of the moon, or taking candid shots of my friends, family and furkids.
